On October 1, 2014, Wednesday, at 14 o'clock in the National History Museum / NIM / will open the exhibition "Bulgarian Autocephalous Archbishopric of Ohrid 1018-1767". It is part of a national program to mark the 1000th anniversary of the death of the Bulgarian Tsar Samuil, organized by the National Committee chaired by the Prime Minister prof. Georgi Bliznashki, Deputy Chairman: Minister of Culture Dr. Martin Ivanov, President of the Academy of Sciences Academician . Stefan Vodenitcharov and Acad. Vasil Gyuzelev, chairman of organization Committee.
The exhibition presents remarkable, almost 800-year history of Bulgarian Autocephalous Archbishopric of Ohrid with its founding charter of Emperor Basil II from 1018-1019 and the its closure by the sultan in 1767.
