Archaeological campaign of NMH for a research on the Holy Martyr George Church

At the end of the Easter holidays and on the eve of the St. George’s Day the National Museum of History, the Historical Museum – Botevgrad and Botevgrad Municipality start an archaeological campaign for research on the Holy Martyr George Church in the village of Trudovets. The mayor of Botevgrad Municipality Ivan Gavalyugov took the initiative and it is realized with the support of Professor Bozhidar Dimitrov and under the scientific guidance of Filip Petrunov – an archaeologist from the National Museum of History. The campaign will be held in May 2016 and the ambition of the archaeologists is to define the functions and chronology of the monument, and to organize its restoration and strengthening later on. The Holy Martyr George Church was described in the thirties of the 20th century and even to this day it has not been studied yet archaeologically.
