Clay cult figurines, Konevo Village

The find comprises more than 100 fragments and intact figurines - male, female and animal, as well as small models of ritual objects - altars, wood (?), boat (?), vessels discovered in the periphery of a settlement mound. On the basis of analogies with similar objects from other regions of the ancient world, it can be assumed that they were probably arranged in a manner that reproduced symbolic ritual actions. The very modeling of clay (mud) figurines could be interpreted as a ritual (magical) act of discerning and invocation of the divine powers in order to propel the cosmic elements.
